We had a very Humble Beginning.

Back in 1941, my grandfather Late Mr. Tharakan Tharu Devassy opened a small kiosk by the wayside. This was on the main road by the market area of Chavakkad. Imagine a small shack. With a mud tile-roof and pick-and-slide slab doors locked with an iron rod. The painted name board read:

In 1975 the shop got robbed.

That night, my grandfather lost his entire stock of gold jewellery. He was crestfallen. So was our dad, a young man back then. Their whole life savings, their whole life's work itself, was gone. However, in a few days, the burglars surrendered the entire precious jewellery intact to the shop. Without a scratch. That marvelled the nearby merchants and the townsfolk. That very day, TT Devassy Jewellery's repute of being an establishment of honesty and honour shot up to the skies.

The Second Generation

In 1976, our beloved grandpa Devassy handed over the shop to his son Late Mr. T. D. Jose, our father. He promptly relocated the shop to a double-story building. A safer, smarter location. He decided that every piece of jewellery he sells must have a unique signature mark etched 'TT' on it. Remember, this happened several decades before Kerala even heard of the idea called 'branding'!

This young visionary, T D Jose, had already been an integral part of the shop even from his childhood days. Every morning, our father would bicycle about four miles from Kottappadi to his shop, open it and wait for his father to arrive and then rush to school, often losing the first two class periods. Our father practically never left Chavakkad. He didn't go anywhere outside Kerala for decades. This shop was his whole life for almost 60 years. He and his two brothers put in their sweat and lives to build up this venture. People grew fonder of him as he was an honest man, a kind and straightforward man. He spotted sincere and hardworking goldsmiths and made them part of his shop. He kept a vigil on every bit of gold he purchased.

He insisted on 100% purity as he knew inside out of the business and served every customer who came to his shop, politely and with an earnest interest in their good too.

Milestones more and more

1992

The shop got air-conditioned. By then, we the sons, the third generation — Sunil, myself, and Sibil, were helping him.

1995

We opened a new store in Chavakkad.

1998

We added diamonds to our merchandise.

2001

We celebrated the 60th anniversary of our brand, TT Devassy.

2004

We started another showroom in Kunnamkulam. We took great care in the design and display of its interiors.

2009

We opened yet another showroom in Vadanappally.

2020

We had another one in Thrissur and also upgraded our Kunnamkulam store.

2021

We opened yet another showroom in Irinjalakuda.

2022

We opened our Zora signature jewellery ‘Only One’ store at MG Road, Kochi.

There, we launched our first signature jewellery collection, an exclusive designer ensemble. Further, we launched our bestselling DIVO lightweight diamonds and brought in luxury watches as well. By then, TT Devassy Jewellery had truly sprawled out into the hearts of more people with eclectic choices of magnificent ornaments.

Our Chairmans Vision.

It was our father T D Jose's vision and hard work and quality consciousness that made it all happen. He worked with a small margin while giving only the purest quality gold to people. We had our own batch of goldsmiths, very loyal to assure the purity of our merchandise. That helped us to customise jewellery for customers as per their needs.

Our USP was always the quality of the merchandise, whatever we sold, we ensured its purity. Today, in Kerala's gold jewellery collection, 'TT' is a trademark of the absolute and unmatched shine of purity.

To sell only authentic products was our legacy, something given to us in our blood. Our grandfather religiously, almost to the point of being fanatic, stuck to finding only pure gold to make ornaments and sell in his shop. Our father imbibed the same sense of integrity and continued the unshakable foundation of trust in business. Eight decades after, we have tens of thousands of customers in and out of Kerala and overseas entirely loyal to our brand.

At our Kunnamkulam showroom, Bridal Dream - a mix of traditional and modern assortment jewellery - was opened for display. Here, advance booking allows customers to book jewellery as early as they like to protect the gold rates, with any price hikes unaffecting the wedding budget. We also have a few good gold investment plans with easy payment options.

Newer Glories

Recently, we advanced to opening a Digital Wear facility online and direct purchases through our digital platforms like website, social media etc. You can sit at home and easily choose to buy our precious collection and get your pick delivered to your place for free.

Our father, TD Jose is currently the Chairman of TT Devassy Group. We, the sons, look after various establishments under the same ‘TT’ brand. In love and brotherhood and dedication to customers, our TT brand forges ahead in unity and joy. We brothers together stand guard to our founder's commitment to give the customers the purest gold jewellery that's a delight to wear. Whether they be traditional or modern gold, platinum ornaments or semi-precious stones or diamonds.
