As an accessory for daily wear, gold jewellery needs to be picked with utmost care to rule out the ‘too loud’ impression. But, worn the right way, these ornaments can weave a story about you eloquently, proving the finesse of your style and fashion sense.

 

GO FOR LIGHTWEIGHT

Jewellery for office does not need to be minimalistic always, and there is no one-for-all rule for selecting ornaments. It is better to match the office ambience and the type of work you do instead of adopting a blanket policy. Still, it is better to avoid the fancy ones and the chunky ones. Go for lightweight jewellery, ornaments in 18 Carat. The thumb rule is that your outfit and accessories speak volumes about you- to clients and colleagues alike.

So, if you are working for a corporate establishment with back-to-back meetings and discussions and presentations, go for simple fluid designs like gemstone-studded earrings and pendants. Avoid complicated and chunky ornaments that would deviate attention from the smart professional that you are. Select simple chains with an intricate pattern that shows off elegance and grace and accentuate your looks without being flashy and flamboyant. Acquire a collection of pendants that you can wear with a thin chain every day – a pink-hued stone adorned with a row of white stones, a beautifully crafted design in rose gold studded with stones, pendants with motifs of leaves and animal faces.

Bangles and bracelets too should be chosen with utmost care. It is romantic and trendy to stack your arms with bangles that twinkle and jingle and sparkle, but unless you are working for a creative place with a liberal vibe, go for a thin bangle or elegant bracelet that does not attract too much attention to your jewellery than your work. Gold and platinum work best for bangles for daily wear. How about a thin bangle with red and white enamel floral design? Or one with blue drop stone that would be the perfect match for your dark blue formal shirt and blazer? Or else, go for the antique bangle with pink rose face and adjustable opening?

How do you pair ornaments when you are wearing formals or smart casuals to the office? Ensure you do not have more than three pieces of jewellery on you. If you are wearing a stunning pendant, leave out earrings, and if your earrings are long let it be the only ornament you are wearing that day. Watches, wedding and engagement rings are excused from this rule.
